What is HAAS? HAAS, or Hardware-As-A-Service, is when a service provider (SourceOne IT) uses its own IT assets to provide the use of these assets as a service to a customer on a subscription or contractual basis. What is Managed Services? Managed Services is proactive performance management of technology assets on behalf of a customer on a subscription or contractual basis (see table below) What is HAAS Managed Services? HAAS Managed Services is SourceOne IT’s unique approach to IT service and support, as it combines both “HAAS” and “Managed Services” into one comprehensive support model. This allows the consolidation of hardware, WAN / Internet infrastructure, disaster recovery, software licenses and all-inclusive support services into one cost effective and predictable payment. In addition, through equipment standardization, life-cycle management, and proactive managed services, there is less computer downtime, which translates to costs savings to our customers. Managing a network by only reacting to issues can lead to lost time. Determining there is a problem, requesting help, waiting for technicians to be dispatched, waiting for diagnosis, and then more waiting for the problem to be resolved – All of this is lost time and productivity to your organization. At SourceOne IT, we have a better way to serve you. We can help keep your key business tools like email and internet up and running by working to reduce the amount of issues that you experience. With our SourceOne Support Program we’ll have technicians looking after your network to deal with issues BEFORE they affect your productivity. Customer Benefits of HAAS Managed Services: • Customers no longer need to specify, evaluate, procure, own and manage their own IT assets. They can pay a monthly fee that includes the use of the hardware, software applications and ongoing support and management of those systems. • Customers have a very high level of overall IT cost predictability (i.e. fixed fee services, including hardware and software) and eliminate peaks and valleys in their IT spending. • Customers can have the equipment and assets that are needed now, not needing to wait for the required capital cost to match their budgetary conditions. • Allows customers to have 100% of IT cost be an operating expense rather than a significant portion being capital expense, as in a traditional managed services model. This creates certain tax-saving and accounting advantages. • Customers can have a single point of contact for all of their IT requirements and support. • Flexibility – early settlement and upgrade of equipment is available during the IT asset lifetime period. • A more stable network environment due to standardization and sophisticated maintenance and support levels, backed by appropriate service level agreements. • Payment reflects usage – by spreading the cost of the equipment over the economic life of the goods, it will closely reflect its average usage and allow for easy replacement when obsolete
