Comprehensive Policy to Optimize Resources

Web 2.0 trends—from social and business networks to user-generated content—create both opportunities and challenges for today’s organizations. Users are no longer just the consumers of web content; they are now the creators. This provides marketing opportunities and increased productivity. However, without the appropriate controls, this can also create liabilities for organizations when their employees publish inappropriate or confidential content on blogs and social networks.

URL Filtering

We offer URL Filtering by using both URL databases and patent-pending Dynamic Content Classification (DCC) technology. Organizations can mitigate the legal liabilities associated with sites such as gambling and adult content, cut bandwidth costs by preventing access to audio and video streaming and eliminate the security risks of embedded malware.

Managing Web 2.0 Access

We provide a unique solution to manage access to Web 2.0 applications. The answer is not to block access completely, nor is it to allow unrestricted access. The solution lies in providing managed access by allowing organizations to create flexible and granular web access policies by action, location and group. In just one example, organizations may choose to allow selected Webmail applications, but block users from attaching files, which usually risks data leakage.

Bandwidth Management

Traditional products that allow organizations to control bandwidth by protocol are no longer useful: over 80% of today’s traffic is HTTP. We enable organizations to control bandwidth by different HTTP applications. Policies can be created for specific HTTP web applications. For example, one organization may decide that financial applications such as NetSuite.com should be allocated a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 50% of the network bandwidth. Similar policies can be defined for sales applications (Salesforce.com) and other web applications. This allows the most efficient allocation of bandwidth.
